Internationally recognized Jamaican singer, songwriter and producer Da’Ville has built a distinctive career on soulful vocals, memorable melodies and a genre‑fluid sound rooted in reggae and lovers rock while drawing naturally from dancehall, R&B and pop. Known worldwide for songs including “Always On My Mind,” “In Heaven,” “Can’t Get Over You” and “This Time I Promise,” Da’Ville became one of the defining romantic voices of 2000s Jamaican reggae, earning audiences across Jamaica, the Caribbean, North America, Europe, Japan and beyond. Following an extended period away from the spotlight, he entered a new chapter with his 2025 album Breathe—bringing the voice that established his international following together with a renewed focus on faith, gratitude, resilience and purpose.

About
Born Orville Thomas in Kingston, Jamaica, Da’Ville developed his voice early through the church before entering Jamaica’s professional music scene as a member of the vocal group A.R.P. His path eventually led to a solo career and work with legendary Jamaican producer Donovan Germain and Penthouse Records, placing him within one of reggae’s most influential musical institutions.
Da’Ville quickly distinguished himself as more than a vocalist. A singer, songwriter and producer with an instinct for emotionally direct melodies, he developed a sound that blended the warmth of lovers rock and reggae with elements of dancehall, R&B and pop. Early recordings such as “All My Life,” featuring Marcia Griffiths, helped establish his solo identity, while a remarkable run of songs—including “In Heaven,” “Can’t Get Over You,” “This Time I Promise” and “Always On My Mind”—expanded his audience far beyond Jamaica.
“Always On My Mind” became one of Da’Ville’s signature recordings and was later remixed with international dancehall star Sean Paul. His music found audiences across Jamaica, North America, Europe, Africa, the Caribbean and Japan, while releases including In Heaven, Can’t Get Over You, On My Mind, Ichiban and Krazy Love documented his evolution as an international reggae artist. His success also took him on extensive tours across Europe, Japan, the Caribbean and North America.
During his breakthrough era, Da’Ville earned recognition including Stone Love Singer of the Year, EME Male Vocalist of the Year and IRAWMA Most Improved Entertainer, with additional recognition following his collaboration with Sean Paul. Yet beneath the chart success was an artist increasingly navigating the pressures and complications of the music business.
After years largely outside the public spotlight, Da’Ville returned with a perspective shaped by experience. Rather than abandoning music, he continued writing and creating while reassessing his relationship with the industry and the direction he wanted his life and career to take. That journey became central to his next chapter.
In 2025, Da’Ville formally reintroduced himself with “Sunshine Days,” a song centered on gratitude, love, faith and renewal. The release led into Breathe, a 12‑track album that reconnects the unmistakable melodic voice of his earlier catalog with the perspective of an artist who has lived, evolved and returned on his own terms.
Now based in Florida while maintaining his deep connection to Jamaica, Da’Ville continues to build on a catalog that has crossed generations and borders. Managed by Wendy Morgan of Beautiful People Management, his current chapter is not simply a return to the music that made him known—it is an opportunity to introduce the depth, versatility and longevity behind one of modern Jamaican reggae’s most recognizable romantic voices to a new generation of listeners.
