Every Sunday night on WOBC 91.5 FM, DJ EJ and Tyrone open the mic with “Good evening, Jammers!” Then they spin classic and contemporary R&B and soul around a new theme each week, with easy, playful banter between them. On air they’re a radio show; off air they’re Jammin DJ Studio, a husband‑and‑wife DJ team for weddings, galas, proms, and community festivals across Northeast Ohio.

About
Jammin’ with DJ EJ & Tyrone is a weekly R&B/soul show on WOBC 91.5 FM. WOBC is Oberlin College’s freeform college and community station, serving Lorain County and western Greater Cleveland on air and streaming worldwide online. The hosts produce the show live in the studio. Each episode is built around a theme and mixes classics with current R&B. The show’s listener community calls itself the “Jammers.”
DJ EJ (Eboni A. Johnson) has deep roots in Oberlin’s radio scene. Before Jammin’, she co‑hosted The Wonder Women on WOBC with Farah Emeka, the show that later became RnB Redux. Off air, she graduated from Oberlin College in 1997 and is now the college’s STEM Librarian and Head of the Science Library. She also serves as President of Oberlin City Council and edited the book Librarian As Mentor: Grow, Discover, Inspire (2017).
Tyrone (Tyrone Wicks) is an Oberlin native and a returning WOBC DJ who hosted on the station years before Jammin’. Luther Vandross is his all‑time favorite artist. His career includes retiring as a Florida sheriff’s deputy, and he is now an Assistant Director of Campus Safety at Oberlin College. He also does a lot of community board work around Oberlin and Lorain County.
Jammin DJ Studio, the duo’s event business, brings the show’s energy to private and public events. They promise a soundtrack that gets everyone dancing, from the youngest guests to the grandparents. The business is Black‑owned, veteran‑owned, and woman‑owned. It covers weddings (ceremony, reception, rehearsal, and after‑party), corporate events, private house parties, school dances, proms, college events, and community festivals. Bookings come with MC/announcer service, custom playlists, and do‑not‑play lists, within about 50 miles of Oberlin.
